I must say after browsing your gallery that the work in it is fantastic. I especially favor the fantasy MMORPG works. If you intend on making this stuff a reality then I have a proposition for you. I have started a group where deviants can showcase writings and works related to ideas for games, graphic novels, and other forms of entertainment. I would like to invite you into this group. to let me know you are interested, click the watch button on my page, I'll do the same on yours, and then either you can request to join, or I will invite you. Thank you
very nice as always but.... why do I feel a weird thing around her horn and face? it make it look like you draw over another drawing and that the pillar in the corner is cut or covered. also a small personal bit I would probably had lit the candle on the right side and it would had made u able to light the scene a bit more and sculpt the scene. but in overall its really nice I love all your medieval anthropomorphic drawings :3
I do use this technique where I grab a photo or other picture and mask it over some parts of the painting. The reduces the feeling of working on a 'smooth canvas' Did that for the background and armor in this piece. --tho' erasing the pillar like that was intentional, I didn't want any lines touching her head.
I honestly tried lighting the candle but I felt it pulled the attention away from the characters, as much as I would've loved painting a yellow/reddish backlight I just couldn't make it work contrast/composition wise.
Neat quote! Though I bet the conversation went...."Damn archers......It'd bad enough going against spear, sword, and shield....but clouds of arrows!?! I better not hear any damn jokes about fighting in the damn shade! OW! Easy Doc! Stop chuckling!" ("300" reference) (Wife is an archer in the SCA and had her two "War Bows" made in the UK by a fine craftsman!)... Very neat work! Really like the scene and the feel!
